A few months in the making, Minimilestones, a brand-new South African children’s furniture label, has officially launched – signalling a new era for ultra-practical furniture that brings local children’s décor on par with global trends.
Combining modern functionality and quality materials, Minimilestones offers a range of signature goods that come as an all-in-one kit, an industry first in South Africa. The range includes all furniture and accessories to fully equip your child’s room and is focused on practicality and facilitating milestones. All the designs are originated, designed and produced in South Africa.
The brand caters for parents with new-born babies to pre-schoolers who need children’s furniture that is efficient without sacrificing on style. “Minimilestones is a revolution for parents who appreciate practicality and well-planned use of space. Each piece has been developed with real life scenarios in mind and can thus serve you for years,” says Mariske Vardy, Founder and Managing Director of Minimilestones.
“With many things to consider when putting together a child’s room, such as space, materials and styles, it is important to make sure that the furniture you purchase fits in with your home and makes your life as a parent easier.”
“The Minimilestones pieces have a high gloss finish and work on a two-tone colour concept – a combination of white and a secondary colour. While our standard range offers a timeless white and grey or a trendy white and black combination, the Minimilestones décor can be customised to suite your home. A secondary colour can be matched from any standard paint swatch and can be ready for delivery within only 2-3 weeks,” she continues.
By drawing from Vardy’s own experiences as a mother, the product design embodies great attention to detail. The product gives parents practical extended use as well as custom colours, easy cleaning and space saving through flat packing.
The Minimilestones product components assemble with a ‘click’ design. And, the great news is that parents do not need any tools to assemble the furniture, as the design allows the product to hold itself together by using slots and integrated clips.
“The pieces are easy to assemble and easy to adjust for your child’s next milestone. Our range is designed to grow and adapt. Not only can they adjust for your child physically, but also for functionality. A changing station is essential for two years, but after that it’ll either be in your garage or you’ll be looking to sell it. That’s why we have designed a changing station which converts to a bookshelf, as an example,” says Vardy.
“We are very excited to be launching this truly South African children’s furniture label into the market. We recognized the opportunity to serve our local market with our flat pack system made to quality standards we can be proud of. By combining our furniture expertise and first-hand experience we created a modern-day nursery collection that is functional, affordable and finally, beautiful,” she concludes.
The Minimilestones collection is available online and at selected kiddie’s retail outlets in JHB. For more information or to place an order, please visit the Minimilestones website on www.minimilestones.co.za or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
